Since the Center’s inception, the NYU School of Law Library has made available, free of charge, a room for the use of scholars and students worldwide who wish to conduct scholarly research in the area of Philanthropy and the Law. Approximately $70,000 was invested in establishing the Law and Philanthropy Room, a separate room within the NYU Law Library, equipped with computer terminals and a core collection of over 1,000 books and other materials dealing with the legal aspects of philanthropy. In addition to the materials in that core room, the library has thousands of books in its general collection that pertain directly and indirectly to Philanthropy and the Law. As NYU’s entire collection is the most comprehensive ever assembled on the subject of Philanthropy and the Law, it is of exceptional value to legal scholars throughout the world.

Access to the Law and Philanthropy Core Room

Scholars can arrange for access to the Law and Philanthropy Room by calling the Program Coordinator, Allie Tunis, at (212) 998-6168, or contacting her via e-mail at ncpl.info@nyu.edu.  Please provide your name, institution, preferred length of access (i.e., how many days, weeks, months), and research topic.  Requests will be processed on Monday-Friday between 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Please note that it may take up to two business days to provide access to the Core Room, though we make every effort to grant access immediately.
